The Special Procedures Allied Medical Technician course is a comprehensive program designed to train students in various techniques to perform phlebotomy and electrocardigram procedures. A graduated SPAM tech will be able to collect blood for laboratory analysis which is necessary for the diagnosis and care of a patient and to train students to successfully perform 12-lead EKGs and accurately recognize various dangerous dysrhythmias as well as normal sinus rhythms in the heart. These skills will enable the students to find work as an Electrocardiograph Technician or a Phlebotomist in clinics or hospital settings. The students will receive a Completion Certificate for the seminar. At that time, the student will be eligible to take/challenge a National Exam to become a SPAM Tech and will receive two certificates (PHL, & EKG).
